Database Kafka Engineer

Purpose

We are currently looking for a Database Kafka Engineer to join SRE Team in IDEMIA Smart Identity. We are focusing on find someone who will set the standards and be a real guardian for them in area od data base.

Key Missions

As our new Database Kafka Engineer, you will:

  • Provide expert advice on standards for data storage, access, maintenance, and security administration.
  • Install and configure production database systems tailored to customer needs.
  • Optimize database parameters, structures, and performance for scalability and cost-efficiency.
  • Perform routine data backup and recovery processes, ensuring system reliability.
  • Drive and implement Database Management System upgrades and manage server changes.
  • Collaborate with programmers and integrators, supporting them with SQL or noSQL languages.
  • Develop and deliver custom administrative tools for seamless customer database usage.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Level 3 production database issues in a timely manner.
  • Analyze query performance, optimize indexes, and troubleshoot bottlenecks.


To succeed on this position you should have following:

  • Apache Kafka 
  • PostgreSQL 
  • Redis
  • AWS
  • Terraform (nice to have)
  • Infrastructure as a code mindset
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana).
  • Knowledge of disaster recovery strategies and tools for backups and failover.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines


This position is in hybrid model of working with the office in Łódź, Poland. We would like to meet at the office 1-2 days per week.
