Junior SRE Engineer

Purpose

IDEMIA Smart Identity division is responsible for delivering worldwide top technical solutions in digital identity. Digital Identity covers cases like transfer of your driver's license, id, passport and any other document to your mobile device in digitalized form. Apart from document provisioning, we work on document proofing, verification solutions, and many other digital identity-related use-cases.

 

As IDEMIA's SRE you will be an integral part of a growing team focused on building, testing, scaling and operationalizing the service to meet growing customer demand.  You will work with other teams in the organization to define and realize site reliability and performance, deployment automation processes, tools and techniques, system monitoring and capacity planning. 

 

The candidate should demonstrate the ability to apply systematic approaches to solve problems with a sense of ownership and focus. Ideally, the SRE candidate will have a mix of software and systems engineering skills and be knowledgeable and proficient across the technology stack.  The SRE role requires the candidate be comfortable with taking on new engineering challenges, analyzing and defining potential solutions while contributing both as an individual in potentially specialized roles and within a team environment.

Key Missions

  • Driving improvements in SRE across all team members with strong collaboration of SRE domain manager/s.
  • Working collaboratively with other Operations teams as CODE DEV, Infrastructure, Security.
  • Deployment process automation.
  • Deployment and configuration of new platform.
  • Monitoring development including new dashboard and alerting implementation and continuous improvement.
  • Proactive support approach, product design review, collaboration with development team during product development.
  • Installation of upgrades and new patches.
  • Troubleshooting during incident and problem processing.
  • Error logs analysis, reports generation, capacity planning, etc.
  • Communication management during planned interventions / changes and outages.

 

Professional skills

  • Experience with AWS Cloud services.
  • Experience in one or more of the following: Python or Shell scripting.
  • Experience with Linux operating systems internals and administration.
  • Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform and other Cloud-based deployment tools and services.
  • Expertise in analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
  • Ability to debug and optimize a variety of code, languages and automation tools.
  • Knowledge and experience designing and developing applications that consider scalability, reliability, extensibility, etc.
  • Experience in production environments supporting mission-critical applications.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate technical details to different audiences.
  • Nice to have: Devops culture approach, SRE concept.
  • English language is a must.
