Engineering Manager

Purpose

This role is responsible for translating the Travel & Transport Europe Services entity strategy into team (Romanian Operations) roadmaps and objectives and ensuring they are achieved, as well as for team members’ performance, engagement, and development.

Key Missions

  • Ensures operations are in alignment with the organization strategy
  • Coaches, mentors and supports growth of a team
  • Act as technical lead for the team on at least one technical expertise domain
  • Partners with business and other teams’ leaders to determine a common development roadmap that balances management of technical challenges with needs of the customer and market
  • Drives continuous improvements and contributes to development of best practices
  • Acts as point of escalation and takes ownership of major incidents
  • Keeps up to speed with fast-paced technical landscape and recommends or implements new technologies where applicable
  • Identifies opportunities for technology to spot new business initiatives, increase revenue, reduce cost, and delight IDEMIA's customers
  • Manages one team within a domain
  • Manages team deliveries, budget and schedule
  • Owns responsibility for team performance
  • Manages team development (skills, career evolution, etc.)
  • Manages team engagement and is responsible for team motivation
  • Ensures policies and standards implementation within the team
  • Participates to domain strategy definition and ensures its execution
  • Represents the team in front of stakeholders and ecosystem
  • Influences decision-making

Profile & Other Information

  • Strong past technical experience on at least one technical domain (integration, development, security, specifications) 
  • Willingness to participate technically on his domain of expertise
  • Managerial responsibilities: Direct line management of engineers
  • Education or equivalent work experience: Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum necessary experience: 2 to 5 years of relevant experience(s)
  • Technical activities follow up
  • Master's degree in engineering with good experience in leading system integration teams in an international environment
  • Proficiency in English
  • Familiarity with Java and scripting preferred
  • Technological curiosity and strong team spirit
  • Ability to drive technical meetings and workshops with customers
  • Willingness to travel internationally to meet client needs
