Purpose
The Senior System and Network Administrator is responsible for installing, maintaining, and supporting operating systems, applications, servers, virtualization platforms, storage systems, network devices, and backup systems. The role ensures stable performance of IT infrastructure while aligning with organizational goals and security standards.
Key Missions
- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems (Linux, Windows) and enterprise applications.
- Manage and optimize server performance, virtualization environments, and storage systems to ensure stability and availability.
- Ensure smooth functioning of backup and recovery processes.
- Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot network devices to maintain connectivity and optimize network performance.
- Ensure network security through patch management and compliance with cybersecurity best practices.
- Conduct regular system, network, and storage performance evaluations.
- Implement effective patching and backup recovery strategies to minimize risks and downtime.
- Follow ITIL processes for change management, incident management, and root cause analysis.
- Ensure all IT systems comply with organizational standards and industry regulations.
- Use automation tools and methods to improve IT operations and reduce manual intervention.
- Propose and implement innovative IT solutions to enhance efficiency and resilience.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for IT infrastructure, changes, and processes.
- Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders to support projects and resolve issues effectively.
- Provide Level 2 support to resolve complex technical issues escalated from Level 1 teams.
- Act as a subject matter expert for advanced troubleshooting and issue resolution.
- Support and mentor less experienced team members, fostering a collaborative environment.
- Stay curious and continuously learn emerging technologies to align with IT strategy.
Profile & Other Information
Qualifications
Mandatory:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Fluency in English (both written and verbal).
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- 5+ years of experience in system and network administration.
- Proficiency in virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Expertise in storage management and optimization.
- Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes and change management.
- Experience with automation tools and methods.
Preferred:
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, MCSA, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of database design and management.
- Experience with IT architecture and infrastructure.
- Understanding of cybersecurity practices and governance.
