Business Development/Account Manager (Payments)

Overview

As a Business Development/Account Manager you will be responsible for driving revenue growth across IDEMIA’s North American portfolio. This role is designed for a proactive hunter, someone who thrives on building a pipeline, acquiring new business, expanding strategic relationships, and unlocking new opportunities. You will cultivate and grow relationships with key decision makers, generate new opportunities across the payment ecosystem, and shape commercial strategy in partnership with Product, Delivery, and Executive Leadership. Success in this role requires a strong understanding of physical card manufacturing, personalization services, and the ability to position IDEMIA’s end to end issuance capabilities with issuers and fintechs.
Key Missions
Primary Sales and Business Development
- Own the full sales cycle for assigned strategic accounts, target prospects, and your own prospects, from initial outreach to deal closure.
- Deeply understand and effectively sell IDEMIA’s physical card manufacturing, chip technology, and personalization services as part of an integrated issuance solution.
- Build, maintain, and continuously expand a robust sales pipeline, including new logo acquisition, greenfield growth, and cross-sell/upsell opportunities.
- Proactively prospect using a combination of outbound outreach, strategic networking, partner collaboration, and industry knowledge.
- Conduct customer discovery, solution positioning, and value-based selling to senior decision makers.
- Create, refine, and execute strategic account plans to accelerate growth and increase IDEMIA’s wallet share.
- Maintain proper Salesforce hygiene, forecasting, and meeting notes.
Strategic Account Leadership
- Strengthen and expand executive level relationships with core accounts.
- Serve as the primary commercial point of contact, driving long-term strategy, contract renewals, and customer retention.
- Lead commercial negotiations, including pricing and contract structuring, to ensure sustainable profitability.
- Monitor account performance and identify opportunities to optimize customer outcomes and our own commercial impact.
- Partner with internal Delivery, Product and Operations Teams to ensure customer success and maintain strategic alignment.
Digital Services Growth
- Uncover and qualify opportunities across tokenization, digital issuance, authentication, and next-gen payment experiences.
- Work cross functionally to design tailored solutions that blend IDEMIA’s physical and digital capabilities.
- Conduct competitive and market analysis to anticipate emerging trends and customer challenges.
Profile & Other Information
- 5+ years of quota carrying sales experience, ideally within payments, banking technology, or card issuance.
- Proven track record of exceeding sales quotas in a competitive enterprise environment.
- Demonstrated ability to independently generate new business through outbound prospecting, relationship development, and strategic networking.
- Strong commercial acumen, competitive mindset, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Ability to work autonomously in a matrixed organization while collaborating effectively across teams.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Self-starter with a growth mindset and a passion for innovation.
