Cloud Architect

Purpose

Within the Cloud Platform Engineering team, reporting to the Head of IT and Cloud Engineering, you will define and contribute to the Cloud foundation on which the company’s R&D centers and Business Lines (BLs) will rely to meet their clients’ needs. 

You will work closely with business teams, technical governance team, and IT security team to help the various BL teams transform and operate their services in the cloud to achieve excellence in security, resilience, scalability, and cost optimization. 

Key Missions

  • Designs Cloud hybrid and multi-cloud infrastructure to address customer requirements and technical constraints in line with the company standards
  • Provides long term budget forecast for running platform
  • Serves as technical lead throughout the full solution or infrastructure development lifecycle, end-to-end
  • Provides design and validation reviews for other engineers, including feedback on architecture and design issues, as well as integration, performance and scalability
  • Promotes DevSecOps and Cloud principles and best practices across the organization
  • Monitors and reviews existing Cloud deployment to improve cost efficiency and scalability
  • Keeps up to date with latest technologies and advises executive teams for decision making
  • Provides support as a Cloud expert for Level 3 ticket or issues
  • Leads or contributes to Cloud transformation projects
  • Develops and maintains design documents
  • Proposes cutting edge innovation and validates them through proof of concept
  • Designs cloud solutions within one cloud provider (AWS or Azure) and validates it through proof of concept
  • Demonstrates cloud-native solution development, oral presentation, and writing compelling proposals

    • Profile & Other Information

    Required Technical Skills

    • Expertise in Azure or AWS
    • Proficient in designing and implementing infrastructure architectures, including three-tier and high-availability configurations
    • Good knowledge of software architectures: 12-factor apps, web applications, security by design, etc.
    • Good knowledge of database engines
    • Mastery of DevOps tools: git, Jenkins, etc. 
    • Mastery of infrastructure-as-code tools: Terraform, CloudFormation, AzureRM, etc. 
    • Good knowledge of container-based environments: Docker, Kubernetes
    • Good knowledge of Linux environments
    • Ability to write architecture and technical documentation in English 
    • Proficiency in scripting languages: Python and Bash
    • Comprehensive understanding of network architectures and components
    • Strong awareness of security risk management

     

    Experience

    • Minimum 10 years of experience
    • Multiple experiences in implementing a service/project within information systems, contributing to various stages (design/build/run)
    • Preferably, 4 years of experience with public clouds Azure or AWS
    • At least 2 years of experience in maintaining operational conditions of information systems
