Purpose
Join IDEMIA, a global leader in biometric technologies (€3 billion in revenue and approximately 14,000 employees), as a Purchasing Intern! Based in La Défense, you will be directly attached to our purchasing manager for the Smart Biometrics Business Line. You will actively participate in managing our strategic categories with the mission to:
- Manage categories in collaboration with the purchasing manager;
- Ensure the delivery of products/services on time, at the best cost, and with the expected level of quality;
- Develop a network of high-performing, reliable, flexible, and innovative suppliers to support IDEMIA's innovation and competitiveness
About Smart Biometrics:
Smart Biometrics, within the Public Security division, is dedicated to protecting clients' assets through cutting-edge biometric solutions. Our ambition? To become the leader in biometric solutions for enterprises, with expertise in biometric sensor design, physical and logical access control, and much more.
Key Missions
- Manage categories for the Smart Biometrics Business Line: plastic injected parts, mechanical parts, and custom cables
- Develop a strategy for custom cables that enhances innovation, quality, reduces costs, and facilitates service to stakeholders
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure adherence to and accountability for sourcing strategies
- Find suppliers, assess risks and sustainability, and prepare contracts with internal clients
- Negotiate profitable agreements with suppliers and distributors
- Manage disputes
- Monitor supplier performance and take action to optimize costs, improve quality and service, and strengthen supplier relationships
- Report key performance indicators (KPIs) to the purchasing management
Profile & Other Information
- Master’s (2) degree in management, purchasing/procurement, engineering, or business in progress
- Experience in the electronics or industrial sector is a plus
- Curious and eager to learn
- Good communication skills in English, both oral and written
- Strategic thinking: Ability to anticipate and create a clear vision
