Purpose
This role is responsible for design, development and improvement of algorithms to efficiently answer to business or customer needs.
The Fingerprint Research team is seeking a motivated candidate, with a solid background in Software Development and AI for Computer Vision, to work on the development and improvement of algorithms to efficiently improve our fingerprint recognition benchmark-leading solutions or customer needs.
Our studies cover all aspects of scientific research, from exploration of the State of The Art (SOTA), data collection, algorithms design and implementation, to the publication of patents. Not just that, our algorithms are deployed in IDEMIA’s civil and forensic clients and contribute to improving fingerprint verification and identification in all applications.
Examples of some of the studies we work on: fingerprint detection, tracking, segmentation, classification, encoding, 3D modeling, etc.
Key Missions
- Designs, implements, improves and optimizes statistically robust, efficient, secure and scalable algorithms while respecting platforms’ constraints
- Adapts the algorithms to improve system and customer experience, to create added value for customers, and to win external benchmarks
- Develops test strategies and methodologies to evaluate new or competing algorithms
- Presents algorithms and results for internal community challenges
- Stays up-to-date on latest state of the art research and algorithm development methodologies
- Provides support to solution design, implementation, customization and operations
- Closes proactively the loop with operational data/logs to ensure the algorithms are fully effective in operations
- Leads a defined study with guidance of more experienced researchers
Profile & Other Information
- Graduate from an engineering school or holder of a Master’s degree (M2) in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision, or a related field
PhD in Computer Vision or AI is a plus - 1 to 15 years of experience in a similar role in R&D or product development
- Strong understanding of Deep Learning and Computer Vision fundamentals
- Proven involvement in at least three personal or professional projects in Computer Vision or Natural Language Processing (NLP)
- Proficient in Python and PyTorch framework
- Strong background in software development and data analysis
- Fluent in English (able to read scientific papers and present technical work)
- Proficient in French (written and spoken)
- Curious, proactive, and autonomous
- Results-driven with good teamwork and knowledge-sharing skills
