Purpose
The IT Applications Solution Architect will play a critical role in designing and implementing technology solutions that align with business objectives, particularly in the realm of ERP systems and Dynamics 365 (D365).
This position is responsible for leading the architectural design and integration of IT applications across the organization, ensuring that all systems meet performance, security, and scalability requirements. The Solution Architect will collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, project managers, and business stakeholders to define application architectures and ensure successful deployment, with a strong emphasis on ERP solutions.
Key Missions
- Solution Design & Architecture:
Design scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions for IT applications, with a specific focus on Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) and ERP systems.
Develop architecture frameworks and standards to ensure consistent and robust application design.
Create high-level architectural designs (HLD) and detailed low-level designs (LLD) for proposed solutions, especially in the context of ERP deployments and D365 customization.
Ensure integration of various ERP applications and systems to provide seamless business operations.
- ERP and D365 Expertise:
Provide architectural guidance for Dynamics 365 (D365) modules including Finance, Supply Chain, Customer Engagement, and Sales.
Ensure smooth integration of D365 with other enterprise applications such as CRM, HRMS, and third-party systems.
Lead ERP system implementations or upgrades, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and process optimizations.
Customize and configure D365 to meet specific business needs, ensuring adherence to best practices and scalability.
Identify opportunities to enhance business processes through the use of D365 and other ERP solutions.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:
Work closely with business stakeholders to understand ERP-related requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Collaborate with development teams to ensure alignment with architectural standards and best practices for D365 and ERP systems.
Provide technical leadership during solution development and implementation phases.
- Technology Assessment & Selection:
Evaluate emerging technologies and provide recommendations on tools and platforms that align with business needs, particularly in the context of ERP and Microsoft technology stacks.
Identify and mitigate risks associated with technology choices and architectural decisions related to ERP systems and D365.
- System Integration & Data Management:
Oversee the integration of ERP applications, ensuring interoperability and efficient data flow between systems, particularly between D365 and legacy systems.
Design data models and data flow diagrams for both new and existing applications.
Ensure compliance with data governance, security policies, and industry regulations in the context of ERP systems.
- Performance Optimization & Troubleshooting:
Conduct regular performance evaluations of D365 and ERP systems, as well as supporting infrastructure.
Provide solutions for system bottlenecks, performance degradation, and security vulnerabilities in ERP environments.
- Documentation & Standards:
Create and maintain architectural documentation and guidelines for D365 and ERP implementations.
Establish best practices and enforce compliance with architectural standards across the organization for ERP and related systems.
Profile & Other Information
- Master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in IT architecture, software development, or a related role.
- Strong expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or Infor).
- Hands-on experience in designing and implementing D365 solutions, particularly Finance and Operations, Supply Chain, and Customer Engagement modules.
- Strong understanding of enterprise architecture, software development lifecycles (SDLC), and cloud computing (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Knowledgeable in project management methodologies
- Experience with integration patterns, middleware, APIs, and microservices architectures.
- Knowledge of various programming languages and development frameworks (Java, .NET, Python, etc.).
- Strong understanding of database management systems (SQL, NoSQL) and data modeling.
- Familiarity with security best practices and regulatory requirements (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.).
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Certification in TOGAF, Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Solutions Architect Expert, or other relevant certifications.
- Experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies.
- Experience in ERP implementation within industries such as finance, healthcare, or retail.
- Knowledge of Power Platform, Power BI, and related Microsoft tools.
