Transport Project Manager

Purpose
Key Missions
Under the management of the Transport and Customs Director the Transport Manager will in a first mission:
Lead the project of the global transport organization of Idemia :
o Study the actual organization
o Analyze the different process in place
o Establish processes of transport on each site
o Propose a rationalization and professionalization of the organization of the transport at Idemia in local and in central
o Participate to the freight forwarders improvement on the service, the cost and the delay.
o Propose KPIs to measure the efficiency and put measures in place to correct when needed
And after the kick off of the new organization:
Manage the transport global organization
o Implement procedures in each transport teams
o Implement processes to optimize routing, scheduling and SLA with freight forwarders
o Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of transportation operations, mode utilization (sea, air, dual) and financial performance
Strategic Planning and Improvement
o Develop and implement strategic plans for the global transportation network to meet organizational objectives.
o Analyze market trends and industry best practices to identify opportunities for improvement.
o Implement continuous improvement initiatives based on performance metrics.
Regulatory Compliance and risks management
o Develop and implement policies to mitigate regulatory risks in line with international transportation regulations and ensure compliance with customs, import/export laws, and other relevant regulations
o Identify and mitigate risks related to transportation operations, including supply chain disruptions, security concerns, and geopolitical factors.
Leadership, Network and Expertise
o Develop, facilitate and maintain an internal network of transport managers
o Manage relationships with transportation vendors with the support of purchasing department, negotiating contracts, and ensuring compliance with service level agreements.
o Support evaluation and selection of new vendors in support of the purchasing department.
Technology Integration
o Evaluate and implement transportation management systems (TMS) and other technologies to enhance operational efficiency
o Leverage data analytics to drive informed decision-making and process improvements
Profile & Other Information
Experience
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in transport management
Language
- English fluent
- French fluent or intermediate (majority of the corporate meetings are in French)
- Additional language is a plus
Skills and Competencies
- Proficiency with transport management systems (TMS)
- Proficiency in office tools (Excel, Power BI, Power Platform)
- Ability to analyze complex problem involving numerous parties and propose solutions
- Customer oriented
- Organizational Skills
Education
- BAC + 4/5 level engineering or business school type with specialization in Supply Chain/Logistics
- Master and/or MBA is a plus
