Litho Press Operator - 2nd Shift

Purpose

Responsible for prepping the press and needed materials, processing of the jobs and completing required job jacket documentation. Maintenance and cleaning of the press in accordance with Company preventative maintenance program.

Shift: 2:30pm - 11:00pm

Key Missions

  • Follow and comply with all OSHA and company safety procedures
  • Safe, effective and proper use of the equipments and necessary tools
  • Maintains proper handling and disposal of hazardous chemicals
  • Set up press by mounting plates while adjusting print quality registration and color
  • Match color goal with the use of a densitometer, PMS book standards, customer color standards and/or in house standards
  • Makes final pre-run inspection and obtains authorization from graphics supervisor to print all orders
  • Be able to inspect the order for defects as it is being produced, and react quickly when an issue is discovered
  • Verifies with the supervisor any issues encountered during the run of an order
  • Monitors fountain solutions levels
  • Able mix own ink if necessary
  • Completes final count and inspection, making sure that the record keeping is accurate and done in a timely manner
  • Make proper PIF changes if necessary and give a copy to the print planners for the next reorder
  • Clean press thoroughly and neatly while using the proper protective gear at all times
  • Perform maintenance on the UV system
  • Performs all weekly and monthly maintenance on the equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance
  • Replacement of some parts if applicable
  • Adjustment of the rollers
  • Other roles and responsibilities may apply

Profile & Other Information

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Minimum 2 years as a press operator
  • Must be mechanically inclined and have basic maintenance skills
  • Must have an understanding of the press room ISO procedures and practices

Preferred Skills

  • Lean manufacturing experience preferred
  • Experience with job jackets
