Quality Assurance Engineer

Purpose
The role of a Quality Engineer is to improve quality in line with the site KPI’s and lead improvement projects as per company’s programs and needs. In this context, the QA Engineer is involved in the qualification process, responsible for quality improvement actions, supporting with data analysis and reporting on results and trends. To succeed in this mission, the Quality Engineer needs to build collaborative links internally with Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality and Production teams on a daily basis to support and drive projects.
Key Missions
- To maintain proper safety standards according to established policies and procedures including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed in the production area;
- Actively participate and sustain all 5S activities and routine;
- Manage projects and key indicators by creating suitable data analysis and report findings based on statistical evidence and trending;
- Propose and benchmark good practices with other sites and corporate;
- Steer improvement plan for new or existing products and process;
- Participate on and lead: problem-solving activities, lessons learned, P-FMEA and other process improvement tools (Control Plan, SPC, SIPOC, DMAIC, Kaizen, etc.);
- According to the monitoring level determined for internal KPI’s, plan and monitor appropriate actions and propose improvement in the processes;
- Provide the necessary data to enable continuous improvement actions as needed;
- Ensure proper quality procedures are implemented (proper controls, frequency and tools) and monitor results;
- Manage projects and key indicators by creating suitable data analysis and report findings based on statistical evidence and trending;
- Assist with the development and maintenance of department procedures and standard work. Assist in training personnel and ensure that employees received updated training in work instructions and procedures;
- Support and understanding of ISO 9001 and 14001, VISA/MC/PCI and any other specifications and requirements;
- Assist the supervisor to maintain workflow in the department and to coordinate department functions with the production schedule and projects execution;
- Must follow procedures and guidelines as defined by the Employee Handbook;
- Perform other duties as instructed by direct Supervision.
Profile & Other Information
- At least five years of experience in manufacturing;
- Experience in Quality Assurance and or Quality audits;
- Intermediate to Advance Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Project, Visio)
- Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to perform well under pressure, delivering results on projects and activities;
- Strong organization skills, excellent personal time management, group time management, decision-making, and analytical skills required;
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment;
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/related field or comparable professional experience.
