Smart PLP Operator - 3rd Shift

Purpose
Reporting directly to the Finishing supervisor the Smart PLP operator is responsible for the operations of make-ready, running of the jobs, cleaning up and handling paperwork as required in Finishing. He/She is responsible to minimize the waste and to guarantee the best possible quality for our clients. He/She may be needed to train new employees. The Smart PLP operator has to run the press using his/her skills to ensure quality and consistency in production. He/She needs to check and optimize ink drying with a minimum card distortion following set parameters.
Shift: 11:00pm - 7:30am
Key Missions
- The operations of make-ready, running of jobs, cleaning and handling paperwork as required in Finishing.
- Responsible for the maintenance and up-keep of the Smart PLP press along with screen frame cleanliness after production.
- The Smart PLP operator has to run the machine using his/her skills to ensure quality and consistency with-in production.
- He/she needs to check and optimize ink drying with minimum card distortion
- Ability to set up, operate other finishing department machine and produce product within ISO specifications while meeting machine expectations provided by the production supervisor
- Cross-training within the finishing department to create flexibility within the teams as described by the production supervisor
- Must possess the ability to use various precision equipment, individual must have some experience with computers; attention to detail is imperative, along with the ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
- Must be able to meet the company’s attendance and tardiness standards, conform to lunch and break schedules, and attend all required company functions such as departmental meetings, or safety training sessions.
- Must wear all required PPE.
- Must comply with all rules of conduct and safety, follow directions, and accept and respect authority.
- Must be able and willing to learn new methods and systems.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Profile & Other Information
- Previous experience in machine operation.
- Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to read and comprehend and write instructions, short correspondence and memos in English
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required
