Business Analyst

Purpose

This role acts as a bridge between the end users and systems development teams to transform business needs into functional use cases for software or hardware based solutions while optimizing IDEMIAs business value.

Key Missions

      • Act as a Business Analyst and domain expert for biometric and digital identity solutions, supporting projects across Aadhaar-based authentication (UIDAI), eKYC, biometric devices, RD services, and identity platforms.
      • Translate business, regulatory, and compliance requirements (UIDAI, MOSIP, ISO, STQC, CERT-In) into clear functional and technical specifications.
      • Work closely with product owners, architects, development, QA, and compliance teams to ensure accurate implementation of biometric authentication flows (Fingerprint, IRIS, Face).
      • Analyze and document end-to-end authentication journeys including capture, encryption, device binding, RD service integration, and backend verification.
      • Support integration of biometric systems with enterprise applications, government platforms, and third-party services.
      • Perform impact analysis for changes in UIDAI specifications, Aadhaar circulars, or regulatory updates and drive necessary system adaptations.
      • Ensure solutions meet security, privacy, and performance requirements, including encryption, key management, and secure device communication.
      • Participate in UAT, certification readiness, and audit support, ensuring compliance with Aadhaar and identity ecosystem standards.
      • Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring clarity, traceability, and timely delivery.

      Profile / Experience

      • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or equivalent.
      • 5-7 years of experience as a Business Analyst / Product Analyst / Techno-Functional Analyst, preferably in biometric, identity, or digital security domains.
      • Strong hands-on exposure to Aadhaar ecosystem including:
        • UIDAI Authentication & eKYC flows
        • Registered Device (RD) Service specifications (L0 / L1)
        • Biometric modalities: Fingerprint, IRIS, Face
      • Experience working with government identity programs, digital ID platforms, or large-scale authentication systems is a strong plus.

      Technical Knowledge

      • Solid understanding of:
        • Biometric capture, matching, and authentication workflows
        • Encryption, signing, device binding, and secure key management
        • APIs (REST/SOAP), JSON/XML, and system integrations
      • Familiarity with:
        • UIDAI specs, MOSIP SBI, ISO/IEC biometric standards
        • STQC certification processes
        • Logging, audit trails, and compliance reporting
      • Ability to read and interpret technical design documents, API contracts, and sequence diagrams.

      Functional & BA Skills

      • Expertise in requirements elicitation, BRD/FRD creation, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
      • Strong experience with Agile / Scrum / SAFe methodologies.
      • Skilled in stakeholder management, workshops, and cross-functional coordination.
      • Experience using tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Visio/Lucidchart, or equivalent.

Profile & Other Information

    • Domain expertise in biometric identity and Aadhaar is mandatory or highly preferred.
    • Prior experience in financial inclusion, telecom, fintech, or government identity projects is an advantage.
    • Role requires a balance of domain knowledge, technical depth, and business analysis capability.
