Purpose
Key Missions
We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Local Designer to support payment card design adaptation, customer requirements, and production-related activities. The role will primarily involve adapting customer-provided artwork to payment card specifications and ensuring designs comply with applicable CQM (Card Quality Management) guidelines and technical requirements.
The position will also work closely with the Printing, Customer Service, and Customer teams to support artwork approvals, color matching, printing sheet approvals, and overall execution of customer projects.
Key Responsibilities
1. Payment Card Design & Artwork Adaptation
Adapt and modify customer-provided designs according to payment card specifications, technical requirements, and CQM guidelines.
Ensure artwork is correctly prepared for production, including dimensions, layout, color specifications, image quality, and other technical requirements.
Create new card designs and design concepts when required.
Review artwork for potential production issues and provide suitable design solutions.
Ensure customer designs are accurately translated into production-ready payment card artwork.
2. Customer & Internal Stakeholder Coordination
Work closely with customers and Customer Service teams to understand design requirements and provide appropriate artwork solutions.
Communicate effectively with customers regarding artwork changes, technical limitations, design adaptations, and approval requirements.
Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth and timely completion of artwork-related activities.
Support resolution of artwork-related queries and ensure timely closure of open points.
3. Printing & Production Support
Work closely with the Printing Department on day-to-day artwork and production requirements.
Support the review and approval of printing sheets against customer-approved color references and specifications.
Assist in evaluating color accuracy and overall print appearance against approved customer references.
Provide design and technical support to the Printing Department during production.
Participate in troubleshooting and resolution of design- or color-related issues during the printing process.
Ensure artwork meets the applicable branding and design requirements of the respective payment schemes.
4. Reporting & Documentation
Prepare professional presentations for customer and internal reviews.
Maintain daily work reports and provide regular updates on project status.
Maintain proper records of artwork versions, approvals, revisions, and related documentation.
Ensure effective tracking and communication of pending artwork activities.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Proficient in Adobe Photoshop.
Proficient in Adobe Illustrator.
Good understanding of artwork preparation and graphic design principles.
Knowledge of color management, print processes, and production artwork requirements is preferred.
Good understanding of payment card design and production requirements is an advantage.
Knowledge of scheme submission and approval processes for VISA, Mastercard, RuPay, and AMEX will be an added advantage.
Preferred Experience
Experience in graphic design, artwork adaptation, prepress, printing, or payment card manufacturing.
Experience working with customer artwork and adapting designs for production requirements.
Exposure to payment card design, CQM guidelines, and scheme approval processes will be highly beneficial.
