Purpose

This role installs and maintains operating systems, applications, servers, virtualization, network devices and backup systems to ensure stable performance.

Key Missions

•    Windows Server Management: Install, configure, and maintain Windows-based servers (e.g., Windows Server 2016/2019).
•    Active Directory Administration: Manage Active Directory, including user account management, group policies, and security configurations.
     Active Directory Services / FSMO Roles - Role Transfer – Role Seizing / DNS / Domain trust / WDS/File servers (Permission and access right management / disk quote) DHCP / scopes / DORA Process 
•    Server Monitoring: Monitor server performance, system logs, and identify potential issues to ensure optimal system operations.
•    Backup & Recovery: Implement and manage backup solutions for data protection and disaster recovery planning. Tools :- Veeam/ CA Arc Server 
•    Patch Management: Apply patches, updates, and security fixes to systems in compliance with corporate policies.
•    Server Virtualization: Work with virtualization technologies such as VMware

 

Extensive knowledge on High Availability, DRS, VMotion, SV Motion VMware SMP, capacity planner, V2P and P2V technologies 
Hands-on experience with designing and building physical servers installing, configuring, and patching ESXi 7.x & 8.0
Manage VMs with snapshots.

 

  • Extensive knowledge of ESX host and Storage integration with iSCSI & FC technology.
  • Regular support of VMware and windows environment by resolving the escalated tickets for the internal and external customer.
  • Hands-on knowledge of configuring VM network in VMware(vlan/vlan IDs/network teaming etc.
  • Identify and implement the rectified operational issues
  • Hands-on knowledge of Importing and exporting OVFs and manually migration of VMs
  • Manage Firmware updates on ESXI Host hardware.
  •  

•    Incident Response: Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, and escalate to other teams if necessary.
•    Collaboration: Work closely with network, storage, and database teams to resolve cross-functional issues.
•    Security & Compliance: Ensure servers meet security requirements, maintain compliance, and address vulnerabilities.
