Program Purchaser

Purpose

 

IDEMIA Transport and Travel is a provider of innovative, cutting-edge solutions for the
transportation and travel sectors. Our focus is on enhancing passenger experiences, improving
security, and driving operational efficiency across the globe. We offer a large range of advanced
technologies focusing on biometric identification. The three key subject areas of IDEMIA T&T are:
Border Control, Passenger Flow & Facilitation and Lost Luggage Identification

About the Role:
Reporting to the Head of Purchasing Travel & Transport, the Program Purchaser will be in
charge of both strategic and operational purchasing for a diverse range of tenders and programs across
multiple regions. This role provides the opportunity to operate in a high-tech environment, working
with hardware/software and turn-key solutions, and collaborating with specialized teams across the
world. You will engage with international stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and internal
teams.
The Program Purchaser will be the key interface between category purchasers, suppliers, R&D,
supplier quality assurance, pre-sales, and program teams. The role requires managing a broad range of
purchasing scopes, from specific components (e.g. Border Gates, Kiosks, biometric devices, IT
infrastructure hardware/software and others) to more general program requirements, with a focus on
flexibility and adaptability.

Key Missions

- Develop a comprehensive understanding of project and program strategies, objectives, and
needs across varied purchasing scopes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure purchasing activities align with diverse Programs
objectives and organizational goals.
- Support Pre-Sales teams by providing cost analysis, quotations, and negotiating back-to-back
terms across various categories.
- Work closely with program teams to ensure cost efficiency, quality standards, and on-time
delivery for a broad range of products and services.
- Develop and manage category strategies that enhance innovation, quality, and cost-effec
tiveness, while improving internal stakeholder service.
- Source suppliers and collaborate with internal teams to ensure appropriate supplier selection
across multiple categories and program scopes.
- Perform thorough analyses to recommend purchasing strategies, employing Total Cost of
Ownership (TCO) principles for diverse purchasing needs.
- Build and maintain strong, continuous relationships with suppliers to ensure smooth contract
implementation, identify new business opportunities, and mitigate risks.
- Challenge internal needs, conduct RFIs/RFQs, and negotiate favorable agreements that
maximize cost-effectiveness and competitive advantages across various project types.
- Contribute to the Design to Cost initiatives for tenders and ongoing contracts
- Collaborate with R&D teams to drive innovation and supplier-led solutions across varied
scopes.
- Lead the negotiation and execution of supplier contracts, ensuring they align with the diverse
and evolving needs of the business.

Profile & Other Information

- Extensive experience in international business, with a strong focus on managing tenders and
programs across a broad range of purchasing categories.
- Solid experience in contract and project management across various purchasing scopes.
- Strong technical background, with the ability to understand and collaborate on both hardware
and software-related procurement.
- Results-driven with a focus on achieving cost savings, business efficiency, and customer
satisfaction across different purchasing categories.
- Proven experience in supplier management, with the ability to manage and optimize supplier
relationships across multiple scopes.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to engage and influence
stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience in negotiation with suppliers on contracting costing, master service agreement,
contract terms, delivery timeline and product quality
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken, with experience working in a multicultural
environment.
