System Engineer

We are looking for an experienced System Engineer / Integrator who wants to get involved in the exciting world of biometrics.

 

Responsibilities

The successful candidate would be joining our expanding team of system engineers / integrators, reporting to the solution architect and would be responsible for:

  • Develop an understanding of IDEMIA’s biometric solutions.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of existing customer systems.
  • Define the system integration strategies.
  • Configure, install and validate IDEMIA’s solutions.
  • Documenting IDEMIA’s solutions
  • Capturing function and non-functional requirements within internal tools
  • Work with stakeholders, internal SME’s and Solution Architects to define system level requirements.
  • Work with team members to develop solutions for stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain the integration environment and install the solution for validation.
  • Perform system integration and validation test including load, performance, high availability, accuracy and security tests.
  • Investigates issues by analyzing logs during internal and customer lead test execution, reports incidents through configuration management tool and monitors them until closure.
  • Review of customer engineering documents
  • Prepare and deliver training for customer, support & maintenance teams,
  • Support pre-sales teams on specific technical requests on integration activities.

 

Must Have Skills

  • Red Hat Linux Administration
  • Windows Administration
  • Scripting knowledge (Bash, Python)
  • Networking Concepts (TCP/IP, HTTP)
  • System & IT Infrastructure concepts
  • Methodical troubleshooting techniques
  • Ability to analyze large amounts of data.
  • Technical writing

 

Nice To Have Skills

  • An understanding of biometric concepts and systems
  • Understanding of deployment technologies such as Ansible or Puppet
  • Various COTs software (Tomcat, Zookeeper, RabbitMQ)
  • Relational Database (Postgres/MySql/Oracle)
  • NoSQL Database (Cassandra, MongoDB)
  • Security (SSL, TLS, PKI, …)
  • Containerization
  • Virtualization (VMWare)
  • Cloud technologies (AWS)
  • Basic understanding of testing concepts (FAT, SIT, OAT, OPT, etc.…)
  • High level programming knowledge to allow read and understand source code (preferably Java or Python)
  • Understanding of tools such as Jira, Testlink, GIT, SVN

Requirements

  • UK HO SC Clearance
  • UK NPPV3 Clearance preferable
  • Preference to have experience in delivering to UK Government
  • Full UK Driving License

 

Work Location

  • Winnersh Triangle: Hybrid / Office based roles.
  • Working Hours: Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm
  • Ability to attend customer meetings/workshop sessions onsite.
